The Stabilization of Adolescent Suicidality and Self-Harm (S.A.S.S) is a treatment model designed to allow therapists to assess safety of a teenage or tween client, and maintain them in the community, rather than having to refer to a higher level of care which can often cause further trauma. Created by a former crisis evaluator, the model will walk the clinician through the safety steps that most evaluating clinicians will use, before presenting a structured plan to increase the adolescent's insight, communication, and independence in managing both their safety, and overall mental health.
